Hi guys. I've reinstalled RH 8.0 on my machine and have selected
different software to be installed on the machine so I deleted the old
profile on RHN for the machine and am wanting to subscribe the new
install.
When I run the up2date agent there is a way for me to tell the program
I have an account with RHN but not really sure how to access this
portion with Speakup.
I can see the fields for creating a new account, but I'd like to use
the one I've setup previously.
How can I do this?
Thanks guys.
Tommy

I believe there's an argument to the up2date command -- something like
-p or -P -- I don't recall right off.
Also, have you registered with on the web site:
https://rhn.redhat.com
You could always delete your old system there, and then start over.
As often as I've reinstalled Red Hat, you'd think I'd remember this, but
I don't. Have to look it up every time.

Hi Janina. I've registered with RedHat network on a previous install
of RH 8 on the same machine.
I've completely reinstalled the system so there isn't anything on the
machine left over from the last system. I've went to the site you
gave and deleted the profile for that system and am trying to let it
know about my new system.
In the up2date program when it asks for a username nad password
there's a selection on the screen that you can tell the program that
you have an account with RHn but there isn't any way with Speakup to
hit it.
The only thing I have is the option of creating a new account.
Thanks.
Tommy

Hi, Tommy:
When you run up2date --register, the screen that asks whether you
already have a username and password is confusing. Actually, you're
supposed to fill in the same fields, whether or not you have an account
already. So, simply put your username in, put your password in twice, as
prompted, and continue down to the <next> button.
Note also the package deselction screen is a tad cumbersome. If you
don't want to go through that list one by one, just hit the 'end' key
and you'll go to zsh, after which a tab puts you on <next>.
