Hi,

Sorry, studies have bogged me down recently - the second year is certainly harder than the first!

Anyway, the main thing that is holding me back from a public release is finding somewhere to upload it to. I've emailed Patric Volkerding a few times in the past few months about getting some space on the Slackware FTP site but I think he's rather busy. There's been a lot of termoil around Slackware since their parent company dumped them to fend for themselves. I've been giving CDs of ZipSpeak to people who email me, but if someone can suggest somewhere with lots of web space let me know. This brings up another question: are there still a lot of people who prefer Slackware, or should ZipSpeak be transferred over to RedHat or something - just an idea based on feedback from users.

Just before I go I'd like to ask whether anyone's had any joys using the 2.4.x kernels with an umsdos filesystem?

Saqib

Well, how about asking Kirk R. Surely there
is room on the linux-speakup.org sight?
Kirk, are you following this?

Also, I'm for one still using slackware, and would be interested
to still see zipspeak offered in the slackware flavor.
Greg

Of course there is room on linux-speakup.org. It is kind of tough to
provide space if you don't know there is a need for it. Saqib, if you
want to upload zipspeak to incoming and leave or mail me instructions
on what you'd like done with it, I'll take care of it.

Hi, Saqib. I'm starting my own Linux web site soon, and once everything is set I'll be able to take Zipspeak 8, and post it.
What's the exact size, and I'll see if I'll have enough room to give it a slot on my ftp server.

I got space to hold it and would be happy to. while I don't have a
huge pipe with my residential dsl service, I have the space for it both
web, ftp and https if people need that.

would be happy to host it. let me know.

Brian.

I have about 500 megs of space which I can donate for this cause right
about now. It's not obviously enough for a full blown cd image but 500
megs should be somewhat useful to anyone needing to download files. We
could make it something like asmodean.net/pub/slackware or /pub/linux.
Go ahead and contact me when you have a chance and I'll see what we can
come up with. As I said it's only 500 megs that I have available right
now so hopefully this will work.

Hi all,

Who is the maintainer of zipspeak, is it Sakib?
I was wondering when zipspeak 8 would be uploaded to the web somewhere. Is there
a \flease date of some sort? Thanks.
Greg
