OT, GRUB question on beep

OT, GRUB question on beep

Hi,
Seems like I got an answer on this on another list, on another computer, 
which is not readily available, but I have a dual boot system, and I need 
GRUB to beep when it comes up, and to beep as I arrow through my choices.
Can someone let me know what the characters are to put in front of each line 
to make things beep, if indeed that is what I do?
I wish GRUB had an installer which would put this sort of stuff in after 
asking if you wanted it, but I know that I will need to edit the GRUB.list 
file to make this work.

Put a ctrl-g in the title of each kernel stanza.

Hi Janina,
do I do the key combination "control -G", or do I type in the word control 
and a dash, and then the letter G?
