Hi, I'm really starting to think that there's something screwed up with my bios and/or hard drive.
Below is the last section of output where I received a "Kernel panic" message.
Any ideas or suggestions are greatly welcomed.

Are you trying to install from those old Debian floppies on the Speakup
site? If so, you're choosing the wrong one. I'm sorry, I don't recall
which is the right one. But you aren't going to get anywehre, so far as
I know, with umsdos or reiserfs.

What file system are you using for your root file system? It looks like
your kernel is trying to mount it as either a VFAT or as Reisa, and that's
it. If you're using ext2 or ext3 you need to compile them into your
kernel, *not* as a module.

Cheers.

No, actually I'm using the images from the slackware 9.1 directory.
The boot is bare.i and the root disks are called install.1 and install.2.

Did you partition your HD before starting the setup program?

Did you format your partitions using the menu selection of the
setup program?

Judging from the output you provided, this happens after you remove
the bare.i boot disk, and insert the install.1 disk, am I right? A bit
more of the output might help in sorting out your problem.

It doesn't look like he's been able to get to a point where he can
partition his hd, and run setup.

Hi Greg,
That's exactly where I am.
I've never been given the opportunity to set up anything or partition the
drive.

I could provide the output, but I really don't want ot clutter the list with
large messages.

Feel free to send it to me privately then, and I'll see what there is
to see.
