Hello all,

OK I have installed Fedora and configured Samba. I added a user, using
smbpasswd -a username, and set the password. When I go to access the share
from my Windows Machine, I am allowed to log in but when I try to go to the
home directory for the user it says network path not found and that I may
not have permission to access the folder. Any idea what's going on?

Robby

You probably need to enable browsing on the home directory.

I'm not sure that setting up a samba user is sufficient to setting up a
$HOME on the Linux host. I don't use samba enough to know, but it seems
there may be an additional step, perhaps an export or some such. Perhaps
someone else knows specifically.

You should certainly be able to ssh in to the Linux system, however, but
only if there is such a user known to Linux.
