Hi all. I'm not sure if this was mentioned a while back, but if so does
anyone know the name of the thread so I can look it up? My question is
isn't there a way to be able to follow links in pine and have lynx
execute? I just haven't been able to think of it right now. Thanks in
advance!

Hi Igor,
In the pine setup/configuration menu you need to check
"enable-msg-view-urls", and also enter the path to your lynx
program at "url-viewers". That's all there is to it.

Do you mean traverse a hyperlink? You press enter -- or, if you have
numbered links turned on, you can type the number of the link you want
using the number keys on the qwerty, not on the numeric keypad, and press
enter.

Hi Janina. I figured this out yesterday. Just had to enable msg-view-urls and set the url viewer to be /usr/bin/lynx and it was all done!

Yes.
In Pine's setup tool, look for "url_viewers" and do this:
On the "url-viewers" option, hit "a" to add a value. In the space
that appears, type something like:
"/usr/bin/lynx -nostatus _URL_". Yes, with the quotes and upper
case. If you find it easier, edit your ".pinerc" with your favorite
editor. Look for the "url-viewers=" line.
