To: Speakup is a screen review system for Linux.
I am wondering how I can re-set the defaults with a program like proftpd. I
would like to go through the same set of setup questions that I had
initially, as I was not quite to using the speakup keys, and I think I made
some choices that I would like to change, and in reading the conf file, I am
not sure of the changes.
So, can I delete the proftpd.conf file, and run
dselect install proftpd
and get the choices again?

run dpkg--reconfigure with that program to get the choices again. I can't
remember if that command is one or two dashes. You could also try apt-get
install --reinstall with that program.

Yes, that's 2 dashes, and you forgot a space in there as in:

Check your facts. Its no space and one dash as in:
dpkg-reconfigure <packagename>
The dpkg-reconfigure command is a program, not a reconfigure option to
dpkg.
