Well Kevin I can say this is a community with some very fine folks. I
can't say what happen to Chris as I wasn't there, but to this day you
still have not followed through on the questions and request I made to
you. In fact I think you have simply just ignored me. Most of us and
especially those I know very well are very helpful and open to folks
until they start playing games. I again don't know what happen to Chris,
but Chris maybe step back a minute and then give it another shot.
Best of luck,
Scott

but to step back? Especially when you all may or may not a perposely set me

huh? When! Many of us, myself included, asked you time and again to tell
us in plain English exactly what you had done and where exactly we could
download it. This was never answered. I personally decided that it was no
loss to me if you weren't going to tell me where I could download your
software, so I gave up asking.

Folks, I would strongly suggest you disregard this entire thread. let's just get on with business, and I'll talk to Chris about
this privately. IF you hear any more about this thread from him, unless it's an apology of some sort, I suggest you not read it.

at the risk of being helpful, kevin delivered up the following on Thu, Nov 06, 2003 at 07:12:54PM -0500,
> I am so proud of you! I am in the same boat as you. I have recieved
> rudeness and nothing but! What in the hell kind of comunity is this anyway?
*SNIP*
I swore I wouldn't post but I just can't help myself.
chris, do us all a favour and piss off.
a few of us have tryed to help you myself included.
only to find you not only want us to pour the water into the glass for
you but fucking drink it as well!?
if you ain't prepared to go away and read documentation and come back
with questions, or state hey I sorted it out all by my little self, then
you might as well go back to using windows.
they'll not only drink the water poured out for you, they'll even take a
piss and a complimentory dump, and ask if you're sure you'd like to
proceed.
just click yes and it'll even whipe your arse when you're done.
we'er not here to hand hold, nore are we here to give praise when praise
is so obviously not deserving.
kevin and chris, you would do us a great service if you did unsubscribe.
but I know damn well neither of you will.
why?
it's simple, both of you want to know when something's being said about
you. or directed at you. you can't help yourselves,
it's people like you that drag the community we work so hard to maintain
into disrepute. I'll never unsubscribe because I know at some point what
I say is worth at the very least $0.20 and that 20 cents worth counts
for something when it's greatfully received.
kevin, again you've done nothing to prove the existants of this brave
new inovation for alsatools, and chris, all you want is to be hand held
and not learn anything. LInux isn't like that.
you either do or die.
and guys, you're both so dead you're stank.
chris go away and read some docs and fucking well learn something.
and come back when you've absorbed something in that pea sized brain of
yours.
and kevin do some actual programming rather than spuing forth copeus
amounts of pure unadulterated bull shit.
I've had enough of the whingers and whyners and complainers on this
list. if you're not prepared to do a little reading in the first place
then it's your own fault when it all goes pair shaped.
read read read!
ask questions sure but be prepared to READ!
this is all I'll say. I'm even stunned that such crap was even posted
here.
the pair of you grow up.

You wanna make a bet i won't unsubscribe? tell me how, and i'll do it!
'w'w'w'watch me!
kevin, if you'd like, write me again off list, i'm gonna set up a list on
topica, for linux newbies, and believe me: none of these guys will be on it...
They think that i've got the time to sit on my buddix all day, and do
nothing more than swipe through mail to see if I'm being talked
about... Quite frankly, i love myself, and that is what matters: I don't
care what others think... Quite frankly, I feel that no one should judge
your feelings, so kevin, if you're ever upset and feeling down, tell me! I
wanna know about it, so I can share the pain, as a friend... If you are
happy about something, i wanna know so I can share your joy... That's just
the type person that I am... I mean no harm to anyone, but when people
start bushing around with me, and start telling me to quote: piss off, and
to quote: take a cup, p in it, then drink it... that will not be
tollerated under my standards, nor should it be... Again, I'll very
clearly state, I might be a jerk at times, but does this mean that yall
have to come back at me with negativity?
i really don't see where I've done all that much wrong... and besides,
what does my mail i sent last night have to do with reading documentation,
and when did I say I wasn't willing to read it... Can one of you all quote
no... better... paste! from an exact e-mail, where I deliveretly said: I
will not read documentation. i challenge anyone to fulfill that request...
i'm not gonna keep arguing... So... really... this is the end,
period... yall can write all you want on this topic, but unless you all
have something positive to say about it, I'm just gonna sit back and lerk,
until I find out how to unsubscribe, at which point, I'll be doing so...
Good luck to all yall.
Chris.

Why should we care if someone wants to unsubscribe. It is a free country
and you come and go as you like. I certainly don't lose sleep over is
someone subscribes to speakup or not and no one should, so stay, go, but
stop talking about it. As you can see, I'm a man of action.

That's what their talking about with documentation: there is a little
document at the end of every single message from this list, containing the
URL that will let you unsubscribe. If that wasn't enough, each message
header contains the unsubscription addresses, which any competent email
program will know how to parse.
Have you read it? No, I suppose not, or you would not have made such an
absurd statement.

I hope you got some top-of-the-line shovel for that pile of bullshit you got
sitting at your feet.
This "do or die" theory of yours makes me laugh! This is supposed to be a
friendly comunity.
I realize this is hard to grasp so let me simplify things.
You see, people are supposed to...hmmm...help each other out? Even as
programmers you need to help the less knoledgable.
Now, in my case, it is just the fact that you are plane unexcepting of my
cause.
It all boils down to this:
grow the fuck up!

Well, kevin, granted, with the Alsa drivers, you didn't exactly make it
very clear as to what they did, I'll admit that, however, I still agree
with you that people can be quite rude... Tell ya what: if you'll write
me privately, off list, and I'll give you my addi here in a second, maybe
you and I together could work on the documentation and try to get it
looking really neet, so that most people can understand it... By the way:
I don't mean that as an insult that you didn't do a good job, I'd love to
see what you've done, but without very clear documentation, it makes it
somewhat hard... Again though as I said: maybe if you could explain to me
step by step off list what exactly are the main highlight differences, we
can go from there, and try to make it a bit more clear...
You take care bro...
Chris.

hey Chris. What do you need help with? B/c I have a Slackware box right
now and apparently it doesn't like one of the network cards in this machine.
When I bring up eth0 or eth1, it locks up the entire system.

Then... how are you writing me e-mail right now if you can't get your
internet ethernet devices working... See? i'm not that far blown, I know!
/dev/eth0 is your first ethernet adapter, and then is /dev/eth1 and so
on... I'm assuming that you have a whole other box that you're doing the
e-mail thing on? If not, then face it, you're caught.

See? i'm not that far blown, I know!
/dev/eth0 is your first ethernet adapter, and then is /dev/eth1 and so
on... I'm assuming that you have a whole other box that you're doing
the
e-mail thing on?
*SNIP*
now there's a classic example of talking out your arse if ever I heard
it.
chris may have unsubbed from the list,
but statements like the above just go to show how wrong he actually was.
there is no /dev/eth0 nore is there any /dev/eth1 or so on.
kirk's motto applys here.
Why be helpful if you are not?
oh well, I've only got kevin to kick the shit out of, now.
at least that still amuses me,

Are they really? I never of course gave that a thought.
but kevin, any chance to shoot you down in flames and I'll gladly grab
it with both hands. you sir, are tiresum, boring, dead from the neck up,
full of shit, a boil on the arse of society that needs squezing and
badly, and, an overall pain in the arse.
I'll use the only weapons I have available to me.
and if it hurts you, quite frankly I don't care.
like my signature says I may have to kiss your ass tomorrow, but you had
better be sure you're not talking out of it if I ever do, or I'll come
up and bite it yet again.
I've had my fill of shit stirring kevin so I'm going back to doing
something worth while. and that is using an operating system that
doesn't suffer fools gladly.
good day to you sir and oh,
get nicked.

This is not the time for a battle, it is a time for open discussion.
All I ask is that this comunity be a little more reasonable.
This is a process known as personal growth.

Oh, we know. Why do you think we have been using so many of them, when
sending to your email address?
I refer you to the recent boil, nicking, and related comments of our
colleague across the pond, as prime examples of the ICLMs we have at our
disposal (inter-continental Linguistic missiles).

Chris
Nobody here owes you anything, and you owe us nothing. Furthermore, by
leaving this list, you serve only to cut yourself off from a valuable
source of information, and to spare us from your periodic rantings.
So, by all means, send an unsubscribe command, and then go refill your
prescriptions, or you'll start being involintarily unsubscribed from lists
again.
As for starting a newbee only list on topica, with none of "these guys"
allowed on it. Oh, that's real good: the blind leading the blindest.
That said, may I be the first to wish you a very happy, very speedy, fall,
into a very deep ditch.
