Thanks, and I don't mind having source code. Now, I am using the Fedora 2.something from maybe around the first of May. Could this be the cause of why I can install without speech, but if I include the line: speakup_synth=dectlk speakup_ser=0 after "text" it starts speaking and freezes, never getting past the hardware identification? * And another question: Can I get by with just downloading the Disk 1 ISO, of the most recent version, or have all 4 disks changed? Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janina Sajka" <janina@rednote.net> To: "Glenn Ervin at Home" <GlennErvin@cableone.net>; "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." <speakup@braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Saturday, June 26, 2004 3:50 AM Subject: Re: Fedora download question Files marked 'SRPMS" contain source code. Minding source code isn't the issue. You can't install from it, unless you compile every package yourself yourself. As to your other question, no, absolutely not. You cannot mix versions and expect results. Don't even try. It'll will only fail, and you'll have only yourself to blame. Get a full set of i386 images, and use mdt5sum to check that what you've downloaded is correct. Only then should you attempt to install.
