Guys and gals,

I'm reliably informed (though I haven't searched for it yet) that the 
software is currently available for free download as a beta.  I'm 
therefore intending to get it and use it, since it's very near to release 
and therefore most bugs should have been ironed out.  Be aware though that 
you'll need a Winblows box to load it onto the phone.

i went on the website, and saw nothing about a beta offering.
maybe they took it down, and now we have to find someone who had it, and is
willng to give it up?

only work for 10 mins, after that you have to remove and replace the 
battery to get it to work again.  For a serial number you need to contact 
a talks dealer with the IMEI number from you phone.

Wonder if the numerical pattern for serial numbers could be hacked and then
used in a console-based generator?  B/c I'm sure that they aren't verified
via some kind of database like credit cards are.  Would save us money, you
know. I'd be willing to help, but don't have a Nokia 9290 or associated
software.
