On the fedora box, type in the command
yum provides smjs
And yum will tell you if there is a package that contains what you are
looking for in the repositories that you have your yum looking at.
NOTE: by default, yum does not include livna and dag repositories, and a
person needs to add them if they want them.
These repositories contain rpms of packages that are not part of the
official fedora distribution.

Thanks, Steve.
That is a starting point for a Fedora user to follow. But without a
Fedora system to try it on myself, I would still like to know if it is
available for that distribution.

I think the RPM's mentioned in theelinks instructions may refer to the RPM's
at the mozilla site (the same place as the source that is mentioned in the
elinks documentation). The RPM's there aren't the latest version, and elinks
will work with the latest (1.5). There may be other RPM's else where, but I
don't know about those.
Unless you intend to use smjs for anything else, then I don't think it is
that hard to compile it from the source, just follow the instructions in the
elinks documentation (it worked for me on slackware).

I tried "yum provides smjs", and got nothing.
I'm using the standard fedora repositories, + livna and greysector.

Is this the same thing as Spider Monkey? I installed Spider Monkey so I
could use some javascript with elinks. I can get into my personal
banking site now from linux without having to go into windows. But
there are still some javascript controls that don't seem to work with
elinks.

A google search reveals that a number of people are having problems with
this library not being part of the fedora distribution.
Google
smjs fedora
and you will see what I am saying.

Is there one installable with yum? Just curious.
The smjs library provides javascript support for elinks. It is
installable as a Debian package, but the elinks documentation says it
has not tried the rpm package. It gives some brutal instructions for
installing smjs independently of a packaging system, so it seems there
ought to be an rpm as convenient to install as the Debian package.
Can someone please confirm this for me?
Thanks,
Chuck
