speakup not work in debian etch

speakup not work in debian etch

hello
I hawe downloaded debian etch 4.0 iso image, whih include speakup.
I burned cd from this iso and i booted this cd successfully.
On the boot prompt, i am typing:
speakup speakup_synth=apolo
I an pressing enter and waiting, but speakup do not work properly!
My speech synthesizer works, but i dont hear a boot up messages and anything else.
Why speakup does not work?

Hi Michal.

According to your message, you said you are typing

speakup speakup_synth=apolo

However, the speakup documentation says the keyword for the apollo has
2 l's in it. So, try instead typing:

speakup speakup_synth=apollo

, and see if that helps. Hth.
