Hi!
I am trying to download the CD image files for the Speakup modified Redhat.
However, I have a few questions.
One is how do I know if the files have successfully downloaded when they are
completed before I burn them?
Also can I burn them onto CD using the BASIC version of Easy CD Creator?

If you are using IE, you will get a bong when the download is finished.

You can use Roxio basic to burn the CDs.

Richard

If you are going to burn all of your bridges, you better be able to walk on
water.

Michael:
Yes you can use the basic version of Easy CD Creator to burn cds from
the iso images of the Speakup Modified Red Hat found on the Speakup
Project's site.
I've used Adaptech 4.x versions and Roxio 5 Platinum successfully on
different machines along with of course using cdrecord from my Linux
box.
In response to your other question, pretty well any tool you use to
download should tell you when your download is complete so you should be
fine, as far as how to tell, if you tell us what tool you plan to use
the list might be able to give you further info.
I've used everything from Internet Explorer, too the command line ftp
clients included with Linux and Windows, too ncftp to download these
images and have had good success in all cases so to a point it really
shouldn't matter what you use.

Hi, Michael:

I can't help you with the Easy CD Creator question, because I haven't used
that program since 1999. The quickiest way to get reasonably good
assurance that what you got is what was sent is to compare the byte size
and date of both the downloaded and source files. Unfortunately, you may
need to access the Speakup Modified site with ftp to see the this data, so
here's a list:

valhalla-i386-disc1.iso 669,450,240 July 8
valhalla-i386-disc2.iso 659,030,016 July 8
valhalla-i386-disc3.iso 554,532,864 July 8
valhalla-docs.iso 55,541,760 April 26
valhalla-SRPMS-disc1.iso 585564160 July 8
valhalla-SRPMS-disc2.iso 627,081,216 July 8
