Hay,
would someone be willing to walk me through getting the correct hardware info about my system and working with menuconfig so that I can compile a new kernel?
Thanks,

Cc: Speakup is a screen review system for Linux.
when you get the kernel source installed
patch in speakup from the cvs
type make mrproper
then type make menuconfig
you should see where to add speakup
add your synth
go back to the main menu and go to sound
chose alsa then chose your sound card from the list
hope this helps you some
randy
