Hi, I never got any responces with my last question, but does anyone know
how to make a pppd connection to the internet? Red Hat doesn't have a
pppsetup script, and I can't seam to find it in the conf tools.
I really need a ppp connection, and so far no one I have asked can help me.
Most of the people I ask tell me to use Gnome or KDE to dial in which
naturally doesn't work with Speakup.
When trying to use wvdial it dials and then sits on the screen, and sits,
and sits, and sits. AAny help? Any help at all out there?

Hi
Under linuxconf you can set up your ppp connections. It's been a while since I've worked with rh, but if I remember correctly, the option is under networking, client tasks. If you have the tree menu disabled, it's simply under networking. It's pretty self-explanatory as to how to configure from there. Once you've created a correction, the following command will bring it up:
/sbin/ifup ppp0
assuming that command is still in existance, the last version of RH I really worked with was 6.2.

HTH

I would start by reading the pppd manual -- that give all the
information you need and then you can ask questions if you don't
understand something.
