Hi guys. I have taken it upon myself to register a speakup irc channel on the dragonlynk network.
the address I use to connect to this server is
callisto.uk.eu.dragonlynk.net 6667
I feel that this also maybe benificial to speakup users as not all of us can access the speakup reflecter for one reason or another.
please let me know if any of you feel that this could be of great help to you..
Shaun..

Why did you choose this particular IRC network instead of the Open
Projects network at irc.openprojects.net? That's where most of the
Linux and open-source related IRC channels are located.

Hi all,

Well, at the moment the reflector isn't available. Would like to try
IRC. Now, if I can just remember how zenirc works...

my reasoning for this is because I am aspiring to become an oper on that
server. however, I will register a speakup channel on that server as well.

Yeah, I've been sitting on it for about three months with practically
zero visitors. I've gotten out of checking it very often. I spend
most of my time focussed on the #elinks list but will happily switch
back to #speakup if we get popular.

So I decide to check for a #speakup channel on IRC for the hell of it
today, and what do I find? A populated channel. So if you wish to join,
log onto the freenode network, and join #speakup.

Well, at any rate, it's their choice. some preffer the reflector because
they can talk to an actual person, some like me preffer irc because it
has a lot of options, and in my case, makes it easier to multitask. I'm
not trying to compete with the reflector, but this does open more
options if people choose to use it, and in some cases, it does attract
more interest in the speakup project itself.

hi,
not everybody is a fan of irc.

I've found over the last year or so that people are happy with the
reflector on bumpy.

I've decided to take another shot at opening a speakup irc channel again.
You can find it at irc.freenode.net and the channel name is #speakup .

I tried this once before, and it didn't get much response, but it's worth
another shot.

Freenode is an irc network geared mainly at open source and free software
projects. Most of the main projects like debian, slackware, gentoo,
redhat, and several others are there.

There are also several linux help channels there, such as #linpeople,
#linux, and #linux-help .

Anyway, if you're interested, stop bye.:)

openprojects server.
The address is irc.openprojects.net on port 6667
the channel name is #speakup don't forget the number sign.
I'll be in there either as |3|1ndm4n or if I can get it, blindman. yeah. I
know I know. very original.
