I don't see what getting a speeckup-enabled slackware has to do with
linux-speakup.org being down, since speakup is now part of the official
stock slackware distribution.

Hello,
Please go to:

ftp://ftp.pcdesk.net

I have speakup modified ISO images of slackware there. If you want or need
to build a custom kernel, I have a 2.6.10 source tree patched with Speakup
which I am happy to provide you.

The official Slackware releases direct from Slackware (and its
mirrors) have included kernels with Speakup installed since Slackware
version 8.0. Your favorite Slackware mirror ftp/rsync site includes
Speakup in kernel 2.4.26 for Slackware-10.0, and 2.4.29 for
Slackware-current. I do not know what the status is for the 2.6.x
kernels, but there is a pre-compiled 2.6.10 kernel in the testing
directory for slackware-current. See the Slackware web site at
www.slackware.com for information on the slackware project and a list
of mirror sites.

HTH, and have a _great_ day!

Just to add to that, Slackware 10.1 is out. Go to the slackware site for
more info, and please jump on the torrents and help share the load.

Speakup tutorial is actually a quick reference card type of facility
available with Insert plus F1. Exit by pressing the space bar.
