Hay,
I don't know when I will be able to get that new computer, because of the
prices down here, the computer store wants to charge around $75 for a used
computer, and I don't know where else to look. I haven't had much luck with
yardsales, everything I get seems to be ruened beyond repairs. lol.
Does someone have a linux system that they wouldn't mind giving me ssh
access to? I am not asking for root, but something that will give me enough
access to enough stuff, (I don't care what) but just let me mess around a
bit, with pearl, or anything to let me learn the environment a bit, and get
to know linux?
I guess I should start there anyway.
Thanks,
Tyler Littlefield.

I suggest you take a look for a pentium 2 or 3 on Ebay. I got a decent system there recently for around $42, including shipping. If you have an old hard drive around, they are easy to hook up. Just have someone set the jumper to slave, and plug it in to your cable inside your computer. The ribbon cables usually have an extra plug on them for another drive, and then plug in the extra drive power cable. If you get one, and need help along the way, I'm sure we can help you with it. KK, I was going for the extra comp, because this is the family comp, and, they aren't to thrilled about another anything being added. lol, that was my thinking in it.
