The audio linksto CBC Radio 1 and 2 on the linux-speakup website seem to
be inoperable right now. Anybody else notice this problem?

Hi Chuck: Thanx for the heads up. You are certainly correct they are
definitely not working. I will look into it and fix it tut suit. The
nerve of organizations changing url's without asking for my
permission! 'grin'

Yes.
I noticed the same thing.
In fact, several links to radio stations
seem to have become inoperable.
Do they change their urls?
How does one find out the url for a given station?

Hi Folks: The CBC is redesigning all of it's web pages and adding new
streams and so forth. I have replaced the links with the new ram
files and tested radio one. Please try them and make sure they work
for you. Let me know if they do not.
I also wrote the CBC and requested they consider carrying an
ogg/vorbis stream. They said they'd look into it. If you'd like to
be an advocate you could also write them and request the ogg/vorbis
stream.

Ogg/vorbis is a new encoding system for audio and video files or
streams. It has higher quality sound and smaller compressed files.
Its real advantage is that it's gpl'd so totally free software. You
can find out more about it at www.vorbis.org.
