Hello.
This would be especially directed to any one here who happens to be envolved
with the ham radio internet relay linking project.
I am intrested in possibly setting up a linux system for the purpose of
getting online and using this system to link into a ham radio network that
uses the internet to link up with other stations.
They use linux for there linking software and it is a compilation of redhat
linux.
How would one go about installing the speakup program on there version of
redhat if it's not already there?
As far as I know, they have not included speakup on there redhat
compilation.
Is there any kind of a manual for speakup whair I can get this information?
Hopefully, some one can give me a few pointers for starters.
Tracy Son.

Tracy,
You probably want the Speakup Modified Fedora Core available on the
Speakup site as ISO images (also known as CD ROM images). Find them at:
http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/fedora/1/
You will need at least the three i386 images to install. The
installation HOWTO for the Speakup Modified Fedora Core still isn't
finished, but it's very very similar to the process outlined in the last
Speakup Modified Red Hat Installation HOWTO available at:
http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/redhat/HOWTO_INSTALL.html
In fact the Fedora Core is the latest release of what we used to know by
the name Red Hat. And the Speakup modifications are performed and
maintained by Bill Acker who is also a ham. I'm sure you'll hear from
him soon about this.
Good luck.

Hi,
IRLP uses machines running 7.3, mostly. They're testing RH9 now. If
they use standard RH kernels, Speakup modified standard versions can be
found at:
ftp://linux-speakup.org/pub/speakup/disks/redhat/<version>
If you have any questions, call or write. Calling is likely to get a
quicker and more comprehensive response.
HTH and 73.
