I have noticed a bug in CVS Speakup that causes it to claim that text is "black on black" when using the Speakup key + period to identify the color. This is a minor annoyance. It seems to pop up when part of a line is in reverse video. I am using CVS from 5/1/06, with kernel 2.6.17.8. I attempted to patch a newer kernel, and the patch failed with vt.c. Hi Adam: I have been waiting to see just how long it took someone to actually notice the bug. It occured when Gille put the international languages support into speakup quite a long time ago. I have just not taken the time to make the fix although I am aware of it's location. I have been working with Daniel Drake to move speakup from cvs to git and I will fix the colour problem once that is complete. That is what causes speakup to beep constantly when cursoring left and right also. It continuely thinks the highlighting is changing because the colour attributes are not getting stored. Hey guys, I have a question for anyone who can answer it. I have been trying to install Fedora Core 3 for two days now, and am totally confused. I spoke with Bill Acker on this problem, and was once able to get past, but had to quit in the middle, and am stuck once more. What is happening, is that the installation seems to lock up at the disk testing screen. I will try to tab/alt+tab between OK and Skip, and get no where. I had some sighted assistance for a while yesterday, and found out that the problem occurs whether speakup is loaded or not. When speakup is loaded, it sends my synthesizer (whether dec-talk express or Braille note) into space, and will never quit talking until it reaches the OK or skip buttons for the disk test. Any one have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate any help I can get with this matter. Here is my system config. Processor: Pentium IV 2.8 GHZ Hyperthread on an Abit ai7 main board 1 GB RAM AC97 based sound Seagate 40 GB IDE hard drive NVidia Geforce 4 video card. Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately, I don't think that's the problem, since I can't even get to the partition screen half the time. I could definitely kick myself for having to quit when I did, especially since that one time, I did make it to the partitioning screen. I'm about to try a fedora 5 install via telnet, and see if that works any better.
