hello. how can I upgrade from patato to sarge?
I am installing patato now but want to upgrade to sarge.
if I could get directions on how to do this it would be cool

Well the easiest way once you get a minimal install in and have your
inet connection working do a "apt-get dist-upgrade". What this does is
simply upgrade and install any new packages for the Sarge version. I
think when I did it it took a couple of hours because quite a bit has
been updated.

if not how easy is it to upgrade speakup?
I am a total linux new be.
if it would be really hard to do would some one be willing to log in and
remotely do it?

Well Hank for this too take effect this would mean a new kernel for
Speakup. I could try to do this yes. In fact I am learning too but I
do have the kernel stuff down pat as I have made a coule of kernels and
more than that when mistakes arrise. Why don't you give me a call. I
will just post the number here. My phone is 307-347-8832. I am in
Mountain time which makes it currently 6:37.

okay. I will probably give you a ring either thursday or friday
I got the system up but I kind of screwed it up during installation
I have a system but thats about it no net config nothing like that. I
couldn't tell what was selected or not so I just left everything buy there
defaults when I installed dibean.
as soon as I get the system upgraded to sarge I will give you a ring fore
the speak up.
