Hi all,
A week ago or so I asked where could I find the etch version of Debian with speakup, and someone suggested to do a kernel compile with which, unfortunately, I'm not even familiar yet, so if anybody knows of an already compiled kernel with speakup that I could download and install.
I'm just scared to do any kernel compiling.
Many thanks in advance!
Ned

Could an Ubuntu kernel possibly be compatible with Etch? It has Speakup
compiled as modules. Just a thought, and it might actually work.
Otherwise, you can check
http://people.debian.org/~shane
to see if the latest Etch kernel has been uploaded there and patched
with Speakup.
HTH,
Lorenzo
