Hello everyone.
Since fc4 doesn't talk during installation, I installed over telnet.
Now, when it asks to reboot, I press alt and f2, but nothing happens.
Apparently, my telnet program is not sending the alt key over the telnet connection.
Is there a way to do this?
I'd like to be able to turn firstboot off, etc, but don't know how to do this.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Are you following the steps in the installation HOWTO? It tells you how
to do this after booting. It involves going into single user mode.
Also, you should be able to Ctrl-Z to a shell prompt from the reboot
screen.

I looked at the single user mode stuff, but that seems like it would be hard
to use as well since I wouldn't have speech.
Is there a way to make speakup run after booting into single user mode?
What do you advise?
Is there a way to telnet in remotely to install the kernel RPMS and stuff
like that?

Well, it's always harder without speech, of course. But, until you
install and configura a Speakup MOdified kernel, you're not going to
have speech anyway. In that sense single user mode is no different from
multi-user, networked mode.
Do you have ssh on the computer you used for speech during your telnet
install? If so you can do:
service network start
from the shell prompt in single user and ssh in. Ssh should be up and
running, but if not,
service sshd start
will do it. I presume you put pcspkr in your initrd.img? If so, you'll
have the beep from backspace at the command prompt to give you useful
feedback. And, you can alarm ping some other machine:
ping -a [ip.address]
If you don't have ssh, you should probably use your installation media
and go into rescue mode so that you can again use telnet. At the Boot>
prompt you would do something like:
text rescue telnet ip=[addr] netmask=[addr] gateway=[addr]
