Hi everyone, I have a Keynote Gold Synth, the isa one, or eisa or whatever.
Anyway, I was wondering, is the Accent supported in speakup, and if so, can
I make my keynote emulate an accent under linux?
I am pretty sure this is possible in dos.

No the emulation was done entirely in software.
You can't emulate an accent unless you run dos and the device driver.
You'd need a driver for the ISA card; theoretically possible
but quite a bit of kernel hacking. Pulse data don't even support
the isa card anymore.

The Keynote family of synths is on my list of drivers to write. I
don't seem to be making much progress on that front these days
though. But they are on my list along with Infovox, TrippleTalk and
some Italian synth known as an Audiolog or something.

Ok, thanks Kirk and Kerry.
How much work is it to write a driver?
Where would I start? I'd maybe be willing to give it a try.
I have a Bachelors degree in computer science, so I've programmed in ADA, c,
c++, visual basic, and a little in lisp and java. I also did a little pascal
in high school.
Kirk, let me know if I could be of assistance. I won't promise anything, but
I'd be willing to give it a shot.

speakup_acntpc.c or speakup_dtlk.c. Then learn the command set and
how to control your Keynote and then try experimenting.

No. I think you have to sign a nondisclosure agreement with them to get the specs. But maybe Kirk has managed to get around that problem in his spare time.
