You want to give the -eject option before the other options, and you
don't want the dash in front of speed. Try this:
cdrecord -eject dev=0,0,0 speed=4

I followed your suggesstion. But got a SWABAUDIO. What's that?
Any way to cause cdrecord to send everything it says to a text file?

It ejected because you didn't specify what you wanted it to record. (there
was no source) I believe the directive is -src=<iso file>, but I could be
wrong about that.

You're right of course. That was so obvious, that I completely over
looked it. You should be able to specify the image file on the end of
the command line without any extra flags, but that's already been
posted on.

Can a cd be copied without the copying on to the hard drive? Since an
audio cd has no directoriess, as far as I know, how do I tell cdrecord
where to look?

You can, if you have another cd-rom drive in your system. I use cdrdao
for audio cd's instead of cdrecord.
If your cd-rom is /dev/cdrom, and your cd-writer is /dev/cdrecorder,
the following works for me.
cdrdao copy --driver generic-mmc --source-device /dev/cdrom
Your mileage may very.

Hi. The cdrecord syntax varies depending on whether you want to create
a data or audio cd. If you are creating a data cd, you need to use
mkisofs to create the data image that will be burnt to the cd. If you
are creating an audio cd, then you need to put the wav files, which must
be 44100 mhz sterio in a directory. Name them 01-file-name.wav,
02-file-name.wav, etc.
The syntax for a data cd is:
cdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=0 -dao -data /path/cd-image-name
If you specify speed=0, cdrecord will automatically pick the appropriate
speed, based on the cd writer's capabilities, and the media capability.
For an audio cd, do this:
cdrecord dev=0,0,0 -dao -pad -audio /path/directory-name
You can also add a -v at the beginning of the above commands to get
verbose output.

I don't know if nfbtrans itself runs under windows, but I seem to
recall that there was a main menu review of a windows interface to
nfbtrans a while back. Check the main menu archives:
http://www.acbradio.org/mainmenu.html

Suggestion, speed=2. If the drive wants to do more than that, it'll take
care of it on its own. I use speed=2 yet my record speed is 8.
