Does anybody know whether a speakup-enabled debian testing Netinst
(or whatever) installation exists, and where it may be found?

There is:
http://ftp.Debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-i386/current/images/floppy/access/
Some documentation is available on http://brl.thefreecat.org/wiki/moin.cgi/debian

Hi, thanks for that information; I've explored
the dirs, downloaded the floppies, put on a load
of washing, and will have a play later on. I
think that if speakup was a standard part of these distros, it'd be so neat.

Hi won't it be easier to just use sarge and change the sources list to
testing or unstable then do apt-get update
And then do apt-get upgrade
Just my thoughts.
There is a cd version of sarge with out having to muck about with the hole
floppy thing.

Tried that, it got so far through the upgrade process, then broke.
