I am sorry to say that linux-speakup.org had a processor failure
yesterday morning. It will be going into the shop hopefully this
morning and will be back online just as soon as I can get it back and
online.

the last time we had a major outage was that big blackout for the
entire north-east last summer...I was lucky, had some generator power
for my servers and stuff, surprised nothing died with the voltage
dipping down below 90v every so often.

Hi folks: Last night we had a city wide power outage which caused
much problems with many of our computers even though they were on
UPS's. I have a hunch we got power spikes through auxiliary devices
which caused much trouble.

It unfortunately is bumpy or linux-speakup.org which looks to have
suffered the most damage. I am not sure whether it is the video card
or the drive interface or a power regulator on the mother board yet.
All I know is the power comes on but there is no activity at all on
the computer. Further investigations will have to wait until Monday.
So for now everything is pretty much dead in the water except for the
reflector.

I have moved the reflector and echo servers over to spanky so if you
are a speak freely user you will need to modify your script to point
to spanky.braille.uwo.ca instead of lwl.braille.uwo.ca. You will also
have to change your speakfree_lwl_html variable to /lwl/speakup.html
for the lwl feature of speak freely.

hi Kirk,
hope that not very much blew out
on the system.
the last time we had a power outage here
it was caused by a tornado,
thanks for the good work.

Hi Folks: Linux-speakup.org will be up and down for software upgrades
tomorrow September 2nd. Hopefully it won't be down to long unless the
linear raid decides to give me trouble like last time in which case
who knows how long it'll take. Wish me luck! It'll most likely be in
the morning.

  Kirk
