There is, but Cepstral is better, it is much more responsive than Dectalk.

Hello:
Well, I guess the answer is yes.  The speakup software synth module is 
generic (its called speakup_sftsyn), it is not built specificly for any one 
synth.  It uses something called speech-dispatcher and speechd_up to talk 
with the various software synths.  Speech-dispatcher works well with the 
software DECtalk, I use it all of the time...  A couple of days ago I posted 
a message talking about how I got software speech working, but your specific 
distro might be slitely different.  I use Fedora Core 2.

Wow, I just listened to the demo, and that seems like some good high quality, to.  I wonder why I haven't heard of this before.
