Hi,
ESpeak is not saying "Software found" when my Gentoo box starts.
Instead, it first says:
"Okay, bringing up eth0 adding routes"
Not sure why?
I would like ESpeak to read as much of the boot-up process as Speakup will allow it to do, as much of the boot-up messages as can be done via any software-synthesizer.
Send me an email with instructions on how Speakup works as far as when Speech comes up, etc, so that I can aulter it.
I want as much of my system's boot up process spoken as possible.
Regards,
--Keith.

Hello list,
Has anyone had any experience with the Finereader engine for Linux?
How can it be obtained? Is it worthwhile?
Thanks, best wishes,
Ollie

Hi,
I found out about it, and it is far too expensive. There are only server
type licenses available.
I have looked at a description of the sdk and it should work well.
I seem to recall a price of $7000.00.
There are different agents in different countries, so email the company to
find out which company you need to contact in your area.
Kind regards, Willem

In that case, I'd suggest getting hold of a hardware synth. You'll
then get almost all of the boot process spoken, certainly much more
than you ever could get with software speech, unless of course, the
software synth and whatever is needed to run it resides in the kernel.
