Hi All,
Well, I finally got a linux box! All I need now is to get a network card for
it and a nullmodem cable to connect my synth to the machine. Then we setup
everything I'm gonna need and bingo!
It's a pentium 100 I think running slackware 8.1. The size of the hd is
unknone, I'll have to check into that.
Explorer has caused a general protection fault in module kernel32.dll. I'm
sick of Winblows!

Hi Alex,
You can learn more about your hardware by looking at files in the /proc
directory. Just do ls and then more on the name of a file that looks
interesting, such as the file cpuinfo...
Use the df -k command to see the vital stats on all mounted file systems,
including your hard disk, of course...

Ok and I need to get status on my ethernet adapter, that's in /proc/net/dev
it think.
