SATA drive question

SATA drive question

Hello list,

I'm thinking of getting a second SATA drive for my PC.  The drive in the 
PC now is SATA 133.  I was searching cdw and found many SATA 150 or SATA 
300 drives.  Would these drives be compatible on a SATA bus using a 133 
drive?

Hi. As far as I know, the only thing preventing you from using a higher speed SATA drive is the controler. So if you have a controler that can support SATA II speeds and an equivalent cable, 
you will probably be good to go.

Install line for debian.

I am thinking about installing debian. I have the floppy disks and think the
first command line should be install speakup_synth=ltlk. How can I tell the
installer to ask questions and take me through the network setup and should
it all be on the same command line??? C u l Marv

Hi Marv,
The line would look something like this:
install speakup_synth=ltlk debconf/priority=low
And yes, all the parameters are on a single line.

I didn't see anything about SATA II when looking for drives.  I did learn 
that SATA II is the old name of the group evolving the SATA standard and
doesn't appear to indicate an actual protocol.  I assume this means I can
use a SATA 150 drive.

speakup what would I need to do after the install completes???
