I don't know where else to ask this question. I am subscribed to the
orca and xml lists on gnome.org . Whenever I try to send a message I get
an error reply like the forwarded one below. It seems to be checking my
ip address. However, I don't have a fixed address. Others don't seem to
be having this problem, but I can't find any information on it. It seems
like an unnecessary precaution on the part of gnome.org .

Thanks,
John

The blocked IP address is "74.208.4.195", a/k/a "mout.perfora.net".
It is listed only on a couple of the more aggressive RBL's (such
as uceprotect). Presumably, that server is your ISP's outgoing
email server, through which your own outbound email passes.

Hi,

The address being complained about, quite correctly, is the address of
your SMTP server mout.perfora.net (74.208.4.195) and not your machine's
actual IP address.

The person who administers this server will need to contact the spam
blocker in question to get this resolved.

Geoff.

So how do I complain to gnome.org, since I can't send them email?

Thanks,
John

You don't. You tell the person who runs your SMTP server to take the
issue up with the spam blocker that was given in the message (I don't have
it in front of me right now).

If you forward what you sent us to the people who admin the SMTP server
mout.perfora.net, they should know what to do about it.

Geoff.
