Hi,

i believe the write way in linux is dd, and I suspect that won't work in cygwin.
btw  you can probably make the machine boot from usb without sited assistance by
removing the hard drive inserting the usb drive booting the machine and
reinserting the drive with the machine booted.  I'm not sure how much the ubuntu
installer will like this, but the kernel seems to be perfectly happy to hot
plug unmounted drives.

Hi!
I have solved the problem.
THere was a program called winimage that helped me out.
Rawrite did not work.
Now the problem is to get the usb stick to boot.
BUt that is a hardware issue so i have to get sighted help to get into 
the bios.
