Hello!
Is there any accessible way in linux that I can use to listen/send a shoutcast stream?
in windows we use winamp, but that doesn't work in linux.

Listening is easy. Basically any MP3 player except for madplay should do
the job.
As for sending a stream, this depends what you want to do. If you just
want to send audio from your soundcard, I use darkice
(http://darkice.sourceforge.net) for this. If you want to send
pre-recorded audio, look at Ices 0.x at http://www.icecast.org/ices.php or
ezstream at http://www.icecast.org/ezstream.php depending on your needs.
There are probably other solutions out there.
Geoff.

The vlc program ought to be able to enable you to listen, cvlc which is
part of that same package runs on the console. The mplayer software can
also do that but needs a bit more disabled on this machine at least for
listening. I've never had an occassion to send a shoutcast stream on any
operating system so will defer to others who may answer that part of your
question. With mplayer, you'll need to download separate codecs file if
you're not on Debian. On Fri, 18 Apr 2008, Kristoffer Gustafsson wrote:
