Helo! I'm new to linux and in the great set of how to I tried to understand something!!!
Now i followed the steps in instaling emacspeak how to
and there is presented how to instal viavoice outloud for linux
I get it installed and wen i run
runcmdlinespeak
I get the error
line 21 segmentation fault
clsdir ....
Is an y one got this message and if yes how to repair it

Then as was previously said, ViaVoice is no longer supported and you
would be best looking at another solution.
If you don't mind paying for software synth support, there is Fonix
DecTalk which does work with Emacspeak
http://www.fonix.com I think it is.

Either get the Dec talk runtime for $50 or festival -- or maybe
freetts i you like that which is a Java based one -- those are about
the only choices I know of.

Although I'm not a speech user, for those who don't mind spending a bit of
money, I've also heard good things about cepstral.
One more thing about ViaVoice: More than just not being supported on Linux any
more, the license for using it on Linux has expired a long time ago so, even if
one could get it to work, it wouldn't be right to do so.
