Hi all,
I am wondering, is it possible to use a blazie note taker such
as the braille lite 40 to remotely access a linux machine. for
example, link to the computer's serial port, and then braille on the
note taker, and hear the prompt back, and navigate the screen
using the note taker? if nothing is currently possible, how hard
would it be to produce such a program?
any help would be appreciated, saqib shaikh

I have done a little study about this INtel BIOS problem and
I don't have any good news to report at all. One would think that a
redirection hook would facilitate automated testing and remote setups
and rescues, but if such code exists, it is a better-kept secret than
the maximum speed of our atomic subs.

hi saqib shaikh

While it may not be exactly what you want, there used to be a program
called "a2x" or something like that, which allowed a second computer to
serially access a workstation running X Windows. You may be able to
find this at the MIT web site archive, or some such place. I'm guessing
that the braille lite 40 would be able to communicate with X Windows
using this application, altho access to X Windows might be more than
you are looking for, in terms of access to Linux.

We've developed "serial" access to several operating systems (e.g.,
DOS, Windows, Macintosh) over the years, and the method is
called SerialKeys, but we've not yet done such for Linux. Sorry, but
perhaps the above information will be helpful, or bring other
thoughts?
