You must use speech-dispatcher and speechd-up, espeakup talks directly to
speakup and espeak.
You should need only to get speech-dispatcher to talk to pico-svox and
speakup will work.
Note on the latest versions of speech-dispatcher, the generic module seem
to have a problem and does not work on any of my machines.
