Synth_direct is when you want to send data directlry to the synth. For exampke, suppose you want to increase the inflection of the Dectalk Express. You would cat the parameters to /proc/speakup/synth_direct, since Speakup doesn't have an equivellent function. Not sure about the other values though. -- Erik Heil Phone: (865) 673-0542
