List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: Hi, Ron. I think you totally miss understood my previous post. You don't need to restart your system to run x-windows. The only purpose I have a speech and a normal startup is for times when my Dectalk is not connected or someone wants to start mysystem withouthearing speech. I supose I should have made it more clear why I suggested a speech and normal startup. However, if the system is already running its ok to login and and startx. As soon as the x-server starts speakup will sease speaking anyway.
