List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: In that case, you might want to check your machine for viruses or trojans. You could also try putting serial=0,9600n8 in lilo.conf then running lilo again if it's not already there. You'd be able to have the whole boot process speak starting with the process before the boot prompt that way and might discover something. Something else too, if you power down wait one minute before trying to start the computer again, that way everything that was in memory gets cleared out and you really do get a fresh boot. Jude
