List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: The GPL wouldn't allow that, so I'm pretty sure that Mandrake doesn't make proprietary changes to the kernel. I imagine that Mandrake patches their version of the kernel in order to support extra hardware much as RedHat does. It's a shame that you didn't stick with it and post Speakup enabled MDK RPMs for those wishing to try out that distro.
