List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: There are mainly a few key files difference between the speakup enabled and the default distros. You could really take care of it iteratively--it's just easier not to have to. Essentially, you really only need the speech enabled floppy disk image to boot your system. That will give you a speaking insta.. Next, you need the kernels with speakup--not a small download, but much more manageable over 56K. This will get your system talking when you boot. Lastly, you need the speakup enabled keyboard--forget the exact filename--loadkeys, something like that. I'm sure someone will fill in here. It's probably a good short list to put up for folks who can't handle the megadownloads.
