To use different windows names that don't necessarilly match the linux names you can add this line to the global section of smb.conf username map = /etc/smb/usermap Or you can place the file where ever your other smb configs are. Now the usermap file will look like this: raul = RaulGallegos test = TestUser The first entry is the smb username and the 2nd entry is the windows username. hth. Raul A.
