List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: As a note relating to the discussion of rh6 vs rh7, evidently Intel is developing a new compiler that blows away the gcc compiler for speed of compiled programs. They found a huge increase in speed in the vast majority of kernels they compiled. The compiler isn't open source, but nothing prevents people from using it for compiling open source projects.
