Firstly, I highly doubt that the setup program is able to cope with an ISO image, nice though that would be. You can get around this by mounting the image like so: mount -t iso9660 -o loop /path/to/imagefile /mnt This way, the file will now just look like a set of directories on your system. However, I am very surprised that there isn't an upgrade procedure that doesn't involve reinstallation.
