If your kernel is in fact 2.3.14 (i.e. if that wasn't a typo) then I wouldn't expect it to patch. Secondly, if you are using a source that came with your distribution, it may not be complete (ala redhat). My advice is to download a kernel source from somewhere like ftp.kernel.org and try patching that. Geoff.
