Subject: no speech in talkingArch cd
Date: Mon, 3 Jun 2013 16:21:30 -0500	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <ACABAD21FCC24E22884C574D1CFFE79A@usere7d25fcd6c> (raw)

I ran the talking arch cd but I got no speech. I ran alsamixer and hit m and up arrow a few times, tried
amixer set Master 100%
amixert set PCM 100%
amixer set Front 100%
I have a serial to usb adaptor so I even did
brltty -b al -d /dev/ttyUSB0
nothing.
It does spin a lot and rumbles to itself, but nothing I did got any reaction.
What else can I try?
The vinux cd's all booted fine here, so it's something about that particular cd. This is 2012/11/something .iso of the arch cd.
