And the How to on the speakup site does not tell you how to put it on the cd. -----Original Message----- From: Janina Sajka [mailto:janina@rednote.net] Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 7:42 AM To: speakup@braille.uwo.ca Subject: Re: Installing Linux with Speakup Montemayor, Kateri writes: > > I downloaded the ISO images but cannot get them burned to a cd or > unpacked.Do you know how to do this? You don't "unpack" them. That's not what they're for. The HOWTO explains in great detail how to create a CD ROM from these files. It also explains how to install directly from these files without ever creating a CD ROM. The images on the Speakup site are, however, out of date. Even though you've gone to the trouble of downloading them, you'd be better served to get a shrink-wrapped copy of Red Hat 8.0 at your favorite computer software store or on the net. Just make sure you get Red Hat 8.0. Everything you need will be inside the box. Then you can install the latest and greatest following the instructions in the HOWTO. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Janina Sajka [mailto:janina@rednote.net] > Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2003 3:02 PM > To: speakup@braille.uwo.ca > Subject: Re: Installing Linux with Speakup > > > Use the HOWTO at: > > http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/redhat/HOWTO_INSTALL.html > > Please just ignore all the references to Red Hat 7.3.
