I do have a file called "speechd-up" in = /etc/init.d. =20 Here is what happened after I did /etc/init.d/speechd-up start Starting Interface between speakup and speech-dispatcher : = speechd-up[Sun May 19 20:52:57 2013] speechd: Configuration has been = read from "/etc/speechd-up.conf" Starting speechd-up... To work, speechd-up needs speakup and speakup_soft modules. They are loaded automatically. If you don't want, type rmmod speakup speakup_soft failed! Thanks!
